AHAHAHA
Perpetually laughing over the fact that “real gamer/comic book nerd” males keep insulting women for cosplaying things they’ve never even heard of
who’s the “fake geek” now, fuckers?
Make it viral
WOULD YOU LIKE SOME ICE FOR THAT BURN MEME-MAKER
What proof do you have that a male criticized this? Women cosplay and criticize other people’s cosplay just as much as men. I saw nothing about “fake” in the meme. Maybe you’re trying too hard.
sunflovvr asked:
If a black person can cosplay a white or asian character, then a white person can cosplay a black character. It might be their favorite character. Who has the right to say you can’t cosplay as Canary from hunterxhunter or Cyborg008? You wanna be Dutch? You wanna be Afro Samurai? Go right ahead.

I’m no cosplayer, but aren’t a lot of cosplays of Japanese anime characters, anyway? Unless these are examples of yellow-face:

then who cares, right? People clearly adore the character that they want to cosplay as. They’re putting in time and effort to do their best to look like them. And look at those two and how happy they are. I mean, I get the point if someone were to “black up” because there’s no need, but – you’ll have to forgive my disability here, I can’t tell the difference between colours that are very similar – isn’t the allegedly “black-coded” character purple? So a cosplayer would have to make paint their skin purple to cosplay as her, just like a cosplayer would have to paint their skin green if they wanted to cosplay as the original cartoon Maleficent?
But secondly: of course “–coding” is the same as stereotyping.
That would be like you coming to me and saying, “Hey, Shal, there’s this character who’s Jewish-coded.”
And I’d say, “What? Jewish-coded? How?”
“Well, they’ve got a huge nose, curly hair and really, really love money. That means that they’re definitely supposed to be Jewish, right?”
And then I’d have to slam my head repeatedly into a wall, because that would be you outing yourself as an antisemite.
I just cannot believe that there’s “discourse” about this. It’s basically dressing up and playing pretend with something that you love. People need to calm down and just let others enjoy things without turning it into some kind of life-or-death battleground.
Cosplay whatever you want to. Do not be deterred by things you cannot control such as weight, race, height, and gender. Cosplay whatever you want to- whether it be and 8 ft gigantic woman or a tiny red ball of anger.
i hope i die
this is such a non-issue lmfao god!
they said people of color enough
“I’m here to talk about something very serious”
i felt a polyp form in my ass
This person doesn’t know what 8 foot tall looks like
was that a talking penis
I take Cosplay Cock very seriously.
“poc enough”
Im sitting here like why did they make a penis talk abt body policing
Congrats you selfish idiots, you’re the exact reason this post was made.
You fuckers talk about body positivity all the damn time and yet you never even practice what you preach.
You tear skinny people apart for cosplaying Rose and you throw a tantrum whenever somebody decides to not follow your narrow, racist little headcanons where you’re honest-to-God convinced that FUCKING ALIENS somehow have human ethnicities and that only people of those ethnicities (which again, the gems DO NOT HAVE) should be allowed to cosplay them.
And when somebody actually tells you stop being a pile of hypocritical cunts, you mock their art style and insist there’s no problem while simultaneously proving you are the ones making the problem.
I hope Rebecca’s aware of how absolutely godawful her fandom is, because she doesn’t deserve you scumbags and you definitely don’t deserve her or SU.

I’m starting to see why people get confused by me…
That is some talent.
“Fat erasure”?
Remember, if you cosplay a fat character as slim, or a non-white character as white, the original instantly stops existing. Forever.

My Toru Hagakure cosplay is finished! (ര̀ᴗര́)و ̑̑
Whoa, you look just like her!!
Very misleading. There is no link to the study, more specifically the sample size, but other than that-
“Very comfortable” is likely not the only positive response. It might not even be the most positive response. I’m assuming just plain ol’ “comfortable” is there too.
If someone asked if i would be “comfortable” with a black waiter, as odd as the question is, i would say yes. But asking if i would be “very comfortable” would sound silly, since the race of the waiter shouldnt matter. My level of “comfortability” isnt really something that changes.
This just screams poor journalism. Fake news. Something intentionally misworded and misleading to get a specific reaction from a specific group.
Little thing called “Disinformation.” Intentionally misleading people.
Misinformation is when it’s an accident btw for those wondering
